Once again, we would have to make the decision to backtrack, so with little daylight left we decided to turn around once again and hit plan C. The plan was to head further west to Mt Garnet where hopefully being further inland we would find some rivers that were crossable. Finally, with no major roadblocks, we made it into town, just before dark after 500kms of riding. We where we pretty buggered and found a good place to set up camp for the night. The next day, after the patch job on the air mattress seemed to have worked, we were well rested and ready to punch out the kilometres. The black clouds of the wet season were still lingering, we seemed to be chasing them all day. We finally caught up with the bad weather and had to find some cover so pulled up just before it started bucketing down. Waiting for it to clear we relaxed and had lunch.
