After extensive discussions, the FIM and local Italian organisers have made the decision to postpo- ne the International Six Day Enduro until the same period next year; August. Whilst the ISDE was not due to take place until late August early September of this year - between Lom- bardy and Piedmont, Italy - there are many influen- cing factors that made it necessary to make a decision sooner rather than later regarding the 95th edition of what remains the oldest event in the FIM internatio- nal calendar. The annual off-road event attracts several hundred competitors from more than thirty countries around the World each year, all of whom have to commit to N extensive travel and logistic plans, several months in advance of the ISDE. Moreover, the ISDE demands many months of forward planning and work to prepare many hundred of kilometres of course, all of which rely on the per- mission of the various local authorities and stakehol- ders. The 95th edition of the FIM International Six Days of Enduro will now take place from 30th August to 4th September 2021 with the 5th edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy from 2nd to 4th September, between Lombardy and Piedmont in Italy. All entry fees will be refunded in due course and notification of the 2021 event will be forthcoming. E W S BMW Motorrad has announced that due to the Coro- navirus pandemic that the German manufacturer won't be attending the two leading motorcycle shows later this year; Intermot (October) and EICMA (November). They say the decission was made to counteract cur- rent planning uncertainty at an early stage, and also for their partners involved in BMW Motorrad motorshow appearances, in the interests of the greatest possible security, predictability and transparency. KTM AG has followed the lead of BMW and also with- drawn from all global trade shows for the remainder of 2020, these include Intermot and EICMA. "(We) decided to make several key decisions in the wake of COVID-19 impacting public health, communi- ties, the motorcycle industry and business on a global scale," says Hubert Trunkenpolz, KTM AG CMO. Husqvarna say that they will continue to 'push ahead' with future models and development and see this just as a small squeeze of the brakes. TRAVERSE 126
