TRAVERSE Issue 14 - October 2019 | Page 124

N For some time now BMW has provided performan- ce parts bearing the Tricolour M Power badge, prima- rily for the S1000RR Superbike. Rumours now abound that the M logo and name have been trademarked to a number of BMW Motorcycle names. Not surprisingly a M1000RR has been registered as a coming name, no doubt this is based on the S1000RR, there's also a new name in the M1000XR ... yes, this would be based on the S1000XR. Yet, there's one more ... Strangely, a trademark has been lodged for an M1300GS. While this would perhaps be based on the R1250GS the 1300 suggests that there will be either a capacity increase or just a power boost. It remains to be seen how and when these bikes will be released, altough if the four wheeled version of the M models is anything to go by the bikes could be extremely high performance machines and highly sought after, if they are ever released at all.
