four months pining for my bike and
dreaming of the adventures that we
would ride the following spring, sum-
mer and fall.
A few years ago though, after
spending some time reflecting on
what used to excite me about Canadi-
an winters, I realised that I don’t truly
dislike winter, I merely dislike being
cooped up.
I needed to find a way to contin-
ue adventure riding throughout the
off-season. I did what we do. I adapt-
ed. I purchased a snowmobile.
More commonly referred to as a
sled, my first one was a 1980 SkiDoo
Citation SS. My father had purchased
one each for my brother and I for
Christmas that year, and that was
when I truly fell in love with winter.
As is apt to happen though, life got
in the way for many, many years. It
