and fork kit, which for the BMW also offers an increase in
travel of +25mm.
The LEVEL 1 shock offers compression & rebound
damping adjustment, together with the option to add a
hydraulic remote preload adjuster; and is perfect for those
who want to upgrade the overall suspension performance
while retaining the original seat height.
Meanwhile the LEVEL 2 shock offers an increase in
travel of 25mm (1 inch), and includes a reservoir together
with individual high and low speed compression damping
adjusters, and a separate rebound adjuster. Again, this
shock can also be fitted with the optional hydraulic preload
adjuster, and both shocks will be offered with a range of
spring weights to suit individual riders and requirements.
“However, the BMW differs from the other bikes in our
range by not having a linkage for the rear shock."
“This means while it was simple enough to gain extra
travel, conversely there is no easy way to lower the
standard bike for shorter riders.”
In that regard Rally Raid will also offer a special version
of their LEVEL 1 GS shock with an adjustable eyelet, that
will allow up to -28mm height reduction.
The corresponding fork kit for the GS (both in LEVEL
1 standard travel and LEVEL 2 +25mm versions) replaces
the non-adjustable front end internal components with
new uprated springs (developed in conjunction with
TRAVERSE 82
