TRAVERSE Issue 02 - October 2017 | Seite 79

Mirror, mirror ... Doubletake Mirrors standing, to be able to still see behind, invalu- able when sharing tracks with other riders and off-road vehicles. Again, there was no vibration and a clear, wide view of behind. Doubletake Mirrors are said to be almost in- destructible, we won’t be testing that, with the quality of RAM mounts well known and the plastic housing made from a su- per tough nylon that comes with a lifetime warranty. The lenses are SAE spec glass and while tough, don’t come with a warranty, as you’d expect with something made of glass however, Dou- bletake Mirrors do supply replacement glass if needed. All the components are replaceable and available from Doubletake. Mirror sets come in three different styles; adventure TRAVERSE (which we tested), enduro, and trail. And start as low as US$50.00 (AU$63.00) for the Trail, US$96.00 (AU$121.00) for the Enduro and US$120.00 (AU$151.00) for the Adventure. A cheap investment really. Get past the chunkiness of the RAM mounts and the overall look of the Dou- bletake Mirrors will grow on you, in fact they do seem to suit the adventure style bike quite well, better still, they do a much better job than the originals at a fraction of the cost.
