wind and rain suck! When we were in Holland, there was so much wind when we were crossing a dyke (it was only 15km long but it took us about 3 hours because of the wind), that it reduced one of my siblings to screaming "I hate this trip, I hat my bike, I hate my family, Ihate all of you" and kicking their bike. Also, on our first night in Belgium, we were stranded and were trying to make it to Bruges, only 14 km from the border between Holland and Belgium, and we got caught in a rain storm. Actually, the word "rain" is an understatement. It was hailing, windy, cloudy, rainy, and all together awful (It's been like that since The Netherlands). I was so wet even under my rain jacket and my pants were little more than wet rags. As to my not waterproof sneakers, well, I wouldn't be surprised if a fish had decided to take up residence in them!

Excpect the un expected ! You may wake up in a wet tent, and by the time you leave your sleeping bag, it may be sunny and bright. weather is so unpredictable here. But more often, we start dry and then get wet later on. Cant tell you how many of those days we've had!
