Winter fun with
snow
ce skating and
sledding are
two of the most
popular and
suitable winter
leisure activities
and are loved by
people of all ages.
The winter cold will become
a vivid and unforgettable
memory as you zoom down
snowy hilltops or gracefully
glide across the ice.
In winter, Koreans and visitors
flock to an ice skating rink in
Seoul Square. Located right
in the middle of bustling
downtown Seoul, this
outdoor rink offers guests
the best conditions to ice
skate. Moreover, it is just a
short walk from the rink to
Gwanghwamun Square and
the Insa-dong neighborhood,
where you can visit a variety of
tourist attractions.
If you are afraid of cold
weather, an indoor ice rink
located on the 3rd basement
floor of Lotte World - one

TRAVELLIVE
of the major amusement
parks in Korea, is waiting
for you. You can still enjoy
an exciting atmosphere
without any worries about
inclement weather or extreme
temperatures outside.
Visit Korea this winter, be sure
you don’t miss all the fun with
exciting activities on snow. The
most popular one is sledding
down hills while sitting on a
float, bringing you amazing
moments. Everland Snow
Buster, located in Yongin,
Gyeonggi-do, features a wide
variety of high-speed sledding
slopes where you can have
twice as much fun and thrills
with its 200m curved slope.
Why don’t you experience such
interesting activity by yourself
this winter?
The country of
winter festivals
When the snowflakes cover
the entire country with their
shining silver color, locals
and visitors look forward to
the largest annual winter
event - Daegwallyeong Snow
Festival in Pyeongchang city.
The festival venue is divided
into two main areas, each of
them owns different range of
winter events and activities.
One area showcases giant snow
sculpture projects and original
works of local artists. The other
offers recreational activities
such as snow sledding,
bob-sleighing, and Winter
Olympics experience programs.
Pyeongchang’s snow-capped
landscape is the most beautiful
and peaceful places in Korea.
The 2018 Winter Olympics is
also scheduled to take place in
this beautiful city.
Another unique Korean
winter festival is Hwacheon
Sancheoneo fishing festival.
When Hwacheoncheon Stream
freezes in winter, locals and
tourists alike flock to the
stream, carve out a hole in the
ice, and begin ice fishing for
sancheoneo (mountain trout).
In such cold weather, everyone
seems to forget the coldness;
they share with others their
warmest greetings then take
part in numerous activities
such as traditional skating and
shedding.
