ONE INTERESTING EUROPEAN
TRADITION, WHICH I LIKE MOST,
IS SENDING POSTCARDS TO
BELOVED FRIENDS AND FAMILY,
WHICH SHARE STORIES ABOUT
THE SENDER’S JOURNEYS.

Late 2015, a message sent by Ms.
Cäline, a teacher in Noirmoutieren-l’Ile (Pays de la Loire, in the
West of France), had been shared
widely on social networks. The
message calls upon everybody
from around the world to send
postcards of their hometown to
the school that she is working
for. These postcards will help
students at Rocher des Lutins
primary school understand more
about the world they are living
in. Giving an explanation about
the campaign, Ms Cäline shares
that “Names such as Norway or
Japan are very vague concepts to
my students. For them, they are
just names of certain places.
