A team of staff and students, represented ISTM at a public exhibition to mark International Clinical Trials Day at
the Royal Stoke University Hospital in May. The event
provided a showcase for a range of clinical trials in which
ISTM is involved in. The event saw a varied audience
that included patients, school children, clinicians and
even the Hospital's Chief Executive, Mark Hackett.
ISTM was also present at the North Staffordshire Medical
Institute (NSMI) Open Day in July, where staff and students had the opportunity to talk about their research to
members of the NSMI and interested visitors from the
local community. The Lady Mayor of Newcastle Under
Lyme also attended the event and showed a genuine interest in the research being carried out at ISTM.
Other events included Keele University’s Community Day
in June. The rain couldn't keep people away, with a large
turnout and a constant stream of interested visitors to
ISTM’s exhibits. Children and adults alike were keen to
learn more about the application of 3D printing in re-
