TranquiliTea (Interior Major Project) | Page 6

BRIEF TranquliTea is a Yoga and Tea room. A place of peace and tranquil where anyone can enjoy a cup of warm exotic tea and immerse into a relaxing session of yoga. Upon entering, guests will be welcomed by a koi fish pond and an indoor garden. Looking up, and there hangs a giant wooden wave structure inspired by the sea. The facility offers a sensory experience with two yoga studios, a reflexology path, and a tearoom to try various types of tea. There is also a Japanese inspired tatami room where guests can wear the traditional kimono and experience a tea caremony! Rather be outdoors? There is an open green area where guests can enjoy their afternoon tea or occasional outdoor yoga sessions while looking at the view. “Memory and nostalgia find their way into furniture and objects through marks of wear and tear that remind us of personal histories and attachments” (Weinthal, 2001, p. 145) Schedule of Accomodation First Floor: Yoga Studio - 57.4 m2 Check in/Lounge area - 23.4 m2 Lockers/Changing/WC - 21.1 m2 Ground Floor: This theory is interesting to me. I believed that marks, wear an tear do bring memories through furniture and interiors, as it can bring reminders of the past. However, these memories may not be positives ones. I aim to help the users to remind themselves of their greatest memories while being in TranquiliTea or to create new memories. Foyer - 50.7 m2 Tea room - 44.0 m2 Tatami room - 17.7 m2 6
