Men are prevented from experiencing each other in any real caring way. Many men have no male friends at all. Young men are constantly forced into modes where they have to prove their masculinity. Men are cut off from their emotions, their intuition, and nurturing capabilities. Women are credited with enjoying a natural superiority in these areas, effectively disempowering men.
Men are actually demeaned by the promise of money, status, power, possessions and sex in a so-called patriarchal society. They have become wage slaves and feel a tremendous amount is expected of them, creating longer and harder working days that keep them from their relationships at home. The result can be depression and chronic stress. ***
