KLONDIKE RECAP

Klondike with No Snow? No Problem!

Recap of Council Annual Winter Activity
Skis off. Wheels on. GO!
The Klondike Derby is always a blast and, in spite of a lack of snow, 2017 was no exception.
Over 110 Scouts from all 3 service areas got a chance to test their wilderness survival skills and race their sleds through the woods.
This extraordinary winter event not only gets kids outdoors but teaches them skills needed to advance including: fire building and water sanitation, knots and lashings, wilderness first aid and wilderness gear.
Thanks to Joe Maguire, Eric Bloom, Erica Rearick along with all the volunteers who pitched in to provide the youth with a great time!

New District New Patch New Day

With the first official Washington’ s Trail District comes a brand new patch.
The Council Activities Committee designed this new patch to hold a years’ worth of event“ bars” so Scouts can brag about all the activities they attended.
This soon to be collector’ s patch is quite unique in the Scouting patch world.
Each event bar will display an icon representing the event along with the two letter designation for the host Service Area.
Below is the artwork for the upcoming First Aid meeting being hosted by Glacier Ridge Service Area.
