3 laws of Robotics
Also known as Asimov’s law. Isaac Asimov devises these laws as a set of rules and first spelled
out in his 1942 short story "Runaround". These laws were suggested to protect humans from
interactions with robots and ensure friendly robot behavior.
These laws were:
.
.
.
No robot is allowed to harm a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
A robot should follow the orders given by human beings/instructor except where such orders would
conflict with the First Law
A robot must preserve its own existence until it does not conflict with the First or Second Laws
In Asimov's fictional universe, these laws are incorporated into almost all of the "positronic" robots and
cannot be bypassed, being intended as a safety feature.
