The Strange Town By Jayna Tenney What a boring day. People are going about their daily grind, shopping, playing the same old games, yatta yatta yatta. I wish something would happen today. I walk past the same old buiildings, walk on the same old streets, do the same old things until I saw a girl frantically searching around the ground, searching for something important, I assume. I walk over to her and ask what she's missing. "I-I lost my necklace," she says with a shaky voice. I look around the area a bit before she said she already looked around here. I sighed before I turned to ask its appearance. This is gonna be a looooong day, I thought. "It's a turquoise necklace... the stone is in the shape of a heart. Um, could you look by the pier for it?" the girl asked me. Her face was pleading for help. Whatever this necklace meant to her, it was clearly more important than pretty much everything. I know the feeling... As I made my way to the pier, old memories resurface. They were fond ones, such happy, bright things...but, I don't want to remember what they show me. Not now. Not until she comes back. Then, I noticed a man following another. The man was completely gray. And I don't mean his hair was gray or his clothes, but even his skin and eyes. The man that he was following was a battered young man, a scar or two on his face and dry, wrinkly hands. He was holding something...I wasn't sure what it was. Maybe the necklace the girl lost perhaps. Another girl walked up to him, she was young as well. I believed she moved to town when...I was about to ask the man, before he and the girl changed, and he and the girl weren't human...at all. Want to read more? Click here!
