The New All Round Sensation in
Montego Bay
By Catherine Maxfield
I
recently attended the Grand Opening of 100 Mobay. Locat-
ed at MegaMart Plaza, Catherine Hall, attendees were treated to a
fun filled evening which left such an impression on me I have been
back to dine, four times!
Patrons were treated to samples of menu items such as conch
soup, crab wantons, jerk pork, jerk chicken and signature cock-
tails, the most noteworthy of which was the conch soup. The food
sent my taste buds on an exciting journey. The addition of heavy cream elevated the taste and made it a
rich and creamy delight. Another stand out appetizer was a fusion between Jamaican and Italian cuisines
the Oxtail Arancini. These tasty balls of braised oxtail, jasmine rice and mozzarella cheese were breaded
and fried to crispy golden perfection.
The drinks were all exceptional; but I must mention the Chain Smoker because although one of its ingredi-
ents was Campari (of which I am NO fan at all), I finished my drink and had a second.
Keeping in spirit with their hashtags #100reasons and #100suiteexperiences, the evening was rounded out
with entertainment by comedian Chris “Johnny” Daley and reggae artistes D’Burnz and Bugle. As always
Johnny Daley kept the crowd in fits of laughter as he delivered his set. D’Burnz warmed up the venue and
gave a stellar performance. Bugle’s performance was greeted with endless dancing and patrons singing
along to his popular hits. He had the crowd on such a high that he had to return to the stage for an encore
performance.
To my surprise, my visits after the grand opening were all different which further supports the hashtag
#100suiteexperiences. Monday is all you can eat crab night, Friday night is dubbed Captain’s Deck where
diners can enjoy “Fresh Hellshire-Style Seafood” and Sundays during the day drink specials are offered until
10pm when the restaurant transforms into a club and party goers enjoy VIP Sundays until 2am.
I have experienced all their themed and non-themed nights and I must say that the service and ambiance
were never disappointing. I recommend this new spot to everyone and I hope your experience will be as
fulfilling as mine.
