to
sensitise
the
community
about
the
unique,
authentic opportunities available
to
them
to
facilitate
their
socio-economic
development
through their culture and heritage.
Community Tourism Manager, Larisa
McBean spoke about the resilience of
the Accompong people, exemplified
by Captain Kojo and his victory in
defeating the British, leading to
the signing of the Peace Treaty.
She
also
reaffirmed
TPDCo’s
commitment to further developing
the cultural and heritage tourism
products of the community.

TPDCo refurbished the museum in
the Accompong community, and
conducted Team Jamaica training
10 years ago, for which the com-
munity still expresses their gratitude
and appreciation. TPDCo also plans
to conduct further improvements
to the museum, with the assistance
of the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ).
