Karaoke Kronicles
T
his is the only time a person is allowed to belt
the likes of Whitney Houston without being
concerned about how off tune or off key they
are. The Vybz Committee provided cheap
therapy for the Kingston staff when they hosted
karaoke, but it was the eager staff members
(who could barely contain themselves while
they sang terrible, but hilarious renditions of
some of our favourite songs) who made the
karaoke session memorable and enjoyable.
Our Nigerian friends also added to the enter-
taining session by showing off their moves.
Although Karaoke is most entertaining when the
“singers” are often off-tune, we enjoyed our songs
birds Rose-Marie Carty and Dr. Andrew Spencer
who mesmerised us with karaoke favourites “natural
woman” and “one in a million” respectively.
Micheal Bolton’s “When I’m back on my feet again”
hit Oneil Smith who sank to his knees while belting
the classic hit.
Simone Wildman did a “wild” version of Tom
Jones’ Delilah, the dramatic element she
brought to the stage was truly a thing to see.
