Jupiter’ s Hometown Heroes: Citizen Recognition Program

The Town of Jupiter is proud to recognize Dr. Jonathan Virkler as the first recipient of Jupiter’ s Hometown Heroes award. As an emergency room physician at Jupiter Medical Center, Dr. Virkler cares for others during some of life’ s most critical moments. His commitment to service extends beyond the hospital through mentoring high school and college students, speaking to Jupiter High School’ s Medical Academy and volunteering with the Spirit of Jupiter Marching Band and his church’ s preschool program. Through his compassion, leadership and dedication to helping others, Dr. Virkler exemplifies the spirit of Jupiter’ s Hometown Heroes program.

The Charter neighborhood meetings are made up of residents from the Town’ s established neighborhoods who come together regularly to discuss community topics and share information. All residents are welcome to attend, meet neighbors, and stay informed about what’ s happening in the Town. Neighborhood Police Officers and Town staff participate to provide updates, including safety and crime-prevention information. Refreshments will be provided.

Backflow Prevention: What You Need to Know

The Town of Jupiter’ s Cross-Connection Control( CCC) Program helps protect the community’ s drinking water by preventing contaminants from entering the public water system through backflow. Certain properties are required to have backflow prevention devices installed and tested regularly to ensure water continues to flow safely in one direction.

Homestead Exemption Outreach Begins this September

Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9 Jupiter Community Center • 1:30- 2:30 pm Filing for the homestead exemption on property taxes is a benefit to being a Floridian. Although this exemption only needs to be filed once for each property and will then carry over annually, it is important for firsttime filers to know the requirements and deadlines for this tax exemption that can significantly reduce their property tax. Staff from the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’ s Office will be on hand at the Jupiter Community Center throughout the fall to help residents submit their Homestead Exemption applications and answer any property valuation questions. The sessions will be held at the Jupiter Community Center from 1:30 to 2:30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month from September through December. Applications for Homestead Exemptions are accepted by mail or in person at any time throughout the year. However, in order for the exemption to be considered for the upcoming tax year, the application must be received by March 1 of the qualifying year. 2025 Charitable Donation Recipients Announced

On April 7, 2026, Town Council approved $ 49,500 in charitable donations to 16 different non-profit groups throughout Jupiter. The services these organizations include are environmental, conservation, education, job assistance as well as disability and health services. The donations ranged from $ 1,500 to $ 10,000 based on the number of Jupiter residents served.
