At the end of the period 2018- 2P, the 3rd semester students of the Bachelor in Business in Tourism, organized a show room about events. During this event, they explained the importance and the classification of events in tourism sector as well as the different steps for event planning.
The students set a table for a wedding in order to explain the types of chairs for this kind of event: chiavari chair, ---- ghost chair, ---
The three main phases explained by the students are: Consultation or planning, the perfect moment to do a check list according to the clients' preferences and all the information gathered from the clients. Another phase is the coordination of all the vendors or suppliers: music, photography, decoration, transportation, etc. And the last one, Execute, it is about the implementation of the first phase.
The students also talked about MICE tourism trends and its potentialization in Cartagena de Indias.
Our city is one of the favorite destination for weddings and for business meetings in Colombia, because of the beauty of its architectural structures and for all the varied offer of outdoor places such as bastions fortifications and squares. Cartagena is also surrounded of sites to honeymoon such as Barú and Rosario Island.
Finally, the students explained the types of events: academic, socials and corporates.
