Academic Trek

Another tourist attraction visited by the student was the Intiñan Museum The Middle of the World, Latitude 00°00´00´´, where the students could know more about the two hemispheres, the sundial, the Coriolis effect and the egg experiment.

In Ibarra, the students enjoyed a lecture offered by the host university: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Ecuador. Then, they visited Inbabura and Otavalo geoparks. The tour on Cuicocha lagoon was guided by ecuatorian student's from 5th and 7th semester. This lagoon was formed because of Cotacachi volcano eruption. There, the students knew characteristics about the local indigenous ancestors.

In general, this academic trip was a great experience because the students could learn more about ecuatorian culture and their also had the opportunity to improve their knowledge about sustainable tourism.
