Contest: Who wants to be a millionaire?

World Tourism Day: Night Celebration

By LucĂa Tapia

In contribution to the celebration of the World Tourism Day, VIII semester students developed an activity called Who wants to be a millionaire?, in which students from different semesters participated.

It was a funny activity. Our main focus was to commemorate the World Tourism Day, so the questions were related to tourism, especially about tourism in Cartagena.

We offered three prizes. Among 9 participants, 3 were the winners: 3rd., 2nd. and 1st. place. For the 3rd. place the prize was COP $ 50,000 in cash, for the 2nd. place, a dinner for 2 or 4 people in a restaurant of their choice in the charming neighborhood of Bocagrande, and for the 1st. place, a daypass in the majestic boutique hotel Casa Claver located in the historic center of this wonderful city.

The prizes let the students who got 1st. and 2nd. places enjoy the services offered by the restaurant and the hotel, as a way of start to have a contact with tourism sector in Cartagena, and the game let all the public to review some aspects of Cartagena History.

We rate the activity as a success, it was actually fun, full of lessons and great prizes.
