Melissa Castañeda: A Cotelco Joven Leader!

My name is Melissa Castañeda, and I am a student of the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management at Unicolombo. I speak English and French, and I decided to study Tourism because Cartagena is a tourist destination that needs more bilingual professionals.

Besides this, I reciently joined the Cotelco Joven, a ----- reinforce the active representation of young people in the hospitality industry.

Cotelco Joven has been one of my best experience, because this opportunity let me to know many things about different topics related to hotel and business administration.

I also have kept in contact with experts who are part of this guild. I stayed here for 4 years and has been wonderful. Nowadays, I still have the opportunity to meet a lot of people and future colleagues from different parts of Colombia.

For me it is the ideal platform through which you can overcome your fears and make your dreams come true. You can also achieve your purposes and enjoy the best experience for your personal and professional life.

My leadership has let me invite many students of tourism in the city, in order for them to get the benefits that Cotelco Joven offers every year.

As a Cotelco Joven leader, I had to be a support in events organizations, such a: Cotelco Joven Congress and some workshop offered to students, professors of bachelor in Tourism and people who work in different job positions in hotels, travel agencies, air lines, etc.

Recently, Cotelco offered two important workshops in Cartagena: one about reservation and the other one relating to auditing, what let people who work in Reservation department to reinforce their skills.
