Take a self-guided walk along the docks and through the old Port to experience the ambience and observe some of the finest colonial and Victorian buildings in Australia.
The Maritime Museum, Railway Museum and Aviation Museum are all on Lipson Street and open daily … check out the F1-11 jet, climb the old ketch and ride the steam train.

Sunday is market day and popular with those hunting collectables, books and bric-a-brac or fresh, good food. Check out our Wild at Hart fresh food market and Fishermen’ s Wharf markets, easy to locate as they are next to two iconic Port buildings- Hart’ s Mill and the Lighthouse. Go exploring and find‘ The Port’ has many hidden treasures including the South American inspired Jackalope Gallery and a colourful range of Aboriginal art and gifts at Better World Arts.
Find great local cafes and, of course, pubs – this is a port. Many of the local establishments serve up a swag of history as well as great food and atmosphere; you can sample them all on the self-guided Port Heritage Pub Trail. A visit to Port Adelaide wouldn’ t be complete without stopping at the Port Dock Brewery Hotel for a beer.
