Staying with the Gallo-Roman theme, we will go past the amphitheatre in Orange and through Vaison-la-Romaine, thus providing an additional opportunity to draw attention to France’s historical splendours. We believe it also provides the chance to highlight the race’s baroudeurs, who should find this the perfect terrain. If a breakaway does survive to the finish, today’s the day! That’s simply because the Col de la Sentinelle, less than 10km from the finish, may well discourage the sprinters’ teams. TIMETABLE To ride THE GREAT ESCAPE?
