2 SPECTATOR POINTS
2.1 Spectators are welcome to support runners along the route, and we recommend you pack a picnic basket and njoy the day, but braais, skottels, and gas stoves are not permitted along the route.
2.2 Road closures will be in effect on 11 and 12 April 2026 for the duration of both races. Please allow extra travel time to accommodate traffic delays and to secure parking. We urge all spectators to review the road closures in advance and plan your routes accordingly.
See More: Go to page 64 for a full list of road closures on race day.
2.3 Some important guidelines to factor into your planning include:
• Plan ahead by deciding where you will park and how you will access your chosen spectator point on foot.
• Avoid high-congestion areas, particularly if you plan to leave quickly after viewing.
• Always follow the instructions of traffic officers and marshals, and do not obstruct roadways or park on sidewalks.
• Where possible, carpool or share lifts to help reduce congestion.
2.4 When heading to the Finish venue at UCT, note that parking is strictly prohibited along the M3, and vehicles parked illegally may be ticketed or even towed away by traffic officials.
3 RULES FOR SUPPORTERS
3.1 The well-stocked hydration stations along the route are designed to meet all runners’ needs. While personal support points are permitted, please ensure that no litter is left behind, and kindly note that no branding or structures may be erected at these points.
3.2 Please respect the stand-and-hand rule: Supporters may hand items to runners while standing at designated points, but may not run alongside them.
3.3 Non-entrants are not permitted to run or cycle on the route.
4 COLLECTING RUNNERS
4.1 There will be three clearly marked meeting points at the Finish venue – Meeting Points A, B, and C. If you are planning to meet clubmates, family, or friends after the race, we recommend agreeing on a meeting point in advance to avoid confusion.
4.2 Access to UCT is restricted. Arrange for your runner to walk to a meeting point away from the UCT campus, or make use of the shuttle service to meet you at one of the drop points.
See More: Go to page 60 for a map of the Shuttle Service route and its drop off points.
