MEDICAL SUPPORT

1 MEDICAL SERVICE PROVIDER
1.1 Mediclinic is our official medical service provider, ensuring efficient, highquality care for all runners throughout the event.
1.2 We are proud to partner with Mediclinic and ER24 to deliver world-class medical services throughout the event.
2 SUPPORT ON ROUTE
2.1 For the Ultra Marathon, there will be 10 medical stations positioned along the route, each staffed by qualified medical personnel.
2.2 For the Half Marathon, six medical stations will be available, providing comprehensive coverage for all participants.
2.3 Transact Physiotherapy Stations: Transact will provide expert physiotherapists at the medical points along the route to support runners and help manage cramping. Look out for the Transact gazebos if you experience any discomfort or muscle cramps during the race.
2.4 Ambulances will be strategically positioned along both routes to enable rapid response and transport to the nearest medical station. or directly to hospital, if required.
2.5 At the Finish venue at UCT, a fully equipped medical facility will be in place, staffed by doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists, and supported by an Intensive Care Unit.

3 MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
3.1 Please ensure that your medical information and emergency contact details linked to your race profile are accurate and up to date. In the event that you require medical assistance, hospital treatment, or ambulance transport, this information is essential – particularly if you have any allergies or pre-existing conditions.
3.2 Please note that any hospital treatment or ambulance transport will be charged in accordance with the applicable hospital tariff rates.
4 EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBER
4.1 The official medical emergency contact number for race weekend( 11 – 12 April) is 021 023 2720.
4.2 Please save this number on your phone, or make a note of it, so it easily accessible in case of an emergency during the race.
