ENTRIES FOR INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES
Each year, about 3000 international entrants from around 90 countries take part in the TTOM, and are excluded from the ballot system in order to ensure there is an international flavour to the race. These international entries are divided into two groups, Rest of Africa and International, and entries for both groups open about two weeks after Blue Number Club entries and general ballot applications open.
The criteria for being an African runner is based on your country of residence, i. e. where you live and / or work now, not on your nationality. Therefore, if you live and / or work in an African country other than South Africa, you must enter as an African runner, whereas if you live and / or work outside of the African continent, you must enter as an International runner, even if you have South African nationality.
All standard marathons, or races longer than 42.2km, that are affiliated to Athletics South Africa( ASA), or internationally to World Athletics, count as qualifying races, provided that:
• the race course is officially measured, and
• the race is officially timed.
You need to submit your qualifier by adding it to your TTOM profile, or else you will forfeit your entry. Take note that qualifying results can only be submitted once entries have opened, and must be submitted by the stipulated profile update deadline.
FOR THE HALF MARATHON
While entrants in the half marathon do not need to run a qualifying time, your completed 10km, 15km or 21km races will be used to determine your placement in the respective seeding pens for the race start. Therefore, be sure to submit all seeding times and updates on your profile by the deadline for profile updates.
Rest of Africa and International runners can enter on a first come, first served basis, and the moment you pay, you will get your entry. You can find the entry link on our homepage at www. twooceansmarathon. org. za, and need to follow the same procedure as general entrants in terms of creating or updating your profile.
Please note that Rest of Africa and International entries are limited and will close when they are sold out, so it is recommended to enter early to avoid disappointment.
