Here ’ s the A to Z of the 2023 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon ( TTOM ), from Anti-litter measures , Blue Number Club , to Timing Chips , Tog Bags , Toilets and Yellow Numbers . Take a few minutes to read this handy guide before you line up for your race .

ANTI-LITTER CAMPAIGN

TTOM ’ S official policy is that no littering will be tolerated anywhere on the route , including at refreshment stations , the start and the finish . Littering is defined as the act of disposing of waste items anywhere except in a container provided for that purpose . The event waste items include paper cups , bottles , wrappers and containers , whether supplied by the organisers or brought to the race by the participants .
Littering is considered intentional when there is no litter bin in the immediate vicinity of where such items are disposed of . If you are guilty of intentional littering , you may be subject to disqualification or barring from future Two Oceans Marathon events .

ADVERTISING

Only the following advertising or branding may be displayed on a club competitor ’ s upper body attire .
• Title Sponsor : Totalsports on the race number .
• Sub-sponsor : Small logo and / or name of the clothing manufacturer .
• The name of the club sponsor may appear either as part of the name or independent of the club name . Club sponsor identification may appear once only .
If you are unsure , please visit the Rules for a list of what is not allowed to make sure that your race day kit complies .

The Race will be using the SportsSplits app as the official tracking app for the race . Simply click this link https :// rtrt . me / app / SSPLA and download the app . Track your favourite runner , watch the LIVE Leaderboards , and get real-time notifications , all from our official app !

BIS FOR

BLUE NUMBER CLUB

A Blue Number is awarded to a runner that has officially completed 10 Ultra Marathons , and Blue Number Club members enjoy exclusive access to special hospitality areas at the Expo and Finish Line , where they can relax , meet up with old friends and renew acquaintances . Blue Number holders who entered the 2023 event had the opportunity to purchase access tickets to these hospitality areas for guests at the Expo BNC Lounge , but tickets are limited . ( Runners who complete 10 Half Marathons receive a Light Blue Number and enjoy the same perks .)
Runners undertaking their 10th Ultra or Half wear a Yellow Number , and upon finishing will be handed their Blue Number at the finish line . Marshals will be on hand to assist with conferring Blue Numbers .

BENEFICIARY SPOTLIGHT

Each year after the event , charitable organisations are invited to apply for funding support , thanks to the donations of big-hearted runners to the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative ( TOMI ). Submissions by charities are evaluated according to strict criteria , and both calls for applications for funding and the beneficiaries to whom funding is provided , are widely publicised on our website and on social media .
