Who or what first inspired you to join JCL?
Katie McCarthy inspired me to join Latin with her enthusiasm and her insistence that the
teachers (Reinmueller and MAGIS!!!) at HHS were great and that Latin would help with
my ambition to be a doctor and with standardized tests. Ansley Laev also encouraged
me to take Latin, as well as Michael Leykin at the HHS freshmen orientation night.
What was your first impression of the JCL?
My first impression of the JCL was that it was a small group of nerds being nerds in a
nerdy environment. However, upon my arrival at state convention, I realized that it was a
very large group of people doing what they love with so much excitement that it was infectious.
What is your favorite JCL memory?
My favorite JCL memory was at state convention, at the last general assembly, where it
was quite clear how many friends from around Wisconsin I had made, and all of the joyful FV'2g&
