It’s almost here! Can you believe it? The year’s gone by so quickly, and now that convention is only a few weeks away, it’s sure to go by even faster.

I just wanted to say thank you again to all of the fabulous webmasters who have competed in the Website Contest this year. I spent the beginning of my summer judging nearly 45 entries—a total of 15 more than last year. I was so excited to see all the hard work you guys have put in this year, and I’m really glad this contest is growing as much as it is. Thanks to the amazing SCLers and former JCLers who helped judge as well. You guys rock!

So, after nearly a year of lovely JCL antics, what’s left? A lot more, I promise! Stay tuned for a new Convention Resources publication that will sate all of your convention-related curiosities. I’ve really been loving all the questions I have been receiving about convention logistics and thought it would be nice to make a handy little guide for everything you need to know as we approach nationals.

I’m also working on a Website Guide. I’ve released publications on entering the National Website Contest in the past, but I’ll soon be releasing info on how to actually create one to effectively publicize your chapter!

Still have lots more to add to the mix, like another Skype call, more things in the JCL Secretaries and Webmasters Facebook group, planning colloquia, scavenger hunts, ice cream, and working on the rest of Convention with the amazing National Committee.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer until then. See you at Troy!

Best,

Keep Communicating

Salvete Omnes,

Since the last time we've been in touch, I've been hard at work planning out the scrapbook and gathering photos. In addition, I've also begun work on putting together a promotional video for the National Junior Classical League and I'll be filming for that video at national convention.

Get Ready for your Close Up

This past year, I have been working on the Club of the Month competition, creating the Google forms and judging the submissions. Apart from Club of the Month, I have been busy organizing National Classics Week, filming a promotional video with my fellow officers and creating an informational packet with Emmalee Volk. Lastly, I have dedicated much effort to being as transparent in my work as possible, creating an “All Things NJCL Service & Spirit” that includes all the information on the national service project, coin wars, the spirit competition, roll call, and everything else attendees need to know in order to have an amazing experience at nationals.

Over the past few months I've been primarily focused on getting candidates to run and answering the questions of potential candidates to ensure that they pre-file correctly and run their campaigns in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws.
