NJCL Peer Tutoring
This year’s theme, “Classics in the Modern World,” explores how the ancient world continues to shape our stories, art, technology, and everyday lives. Join us for an exciting lineup of guest and student speakers, interactive games, digital service projects, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow JCLers as we dive into digital humanities, adaptations, storytelling, and more.
Apply to be a student speaker here! Classicalia this upcoming year will be hosted on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The NJCL Peer Mentorship program is officially up and running! Whether you are founding a new chapter, aiming to run for office, or seeking advice as a state leader, a peer mentor can help! Experienced JCLers are highly encouraged to sign up to mentor and share their insight. Mentors and mentees will be paired based on prior experience and upcoming goals, with full flexibility on how and when to connect.
To sign up to be a mentor, head to bit.ly/NJCLPeerMentor, and to be a mentee, head to bit.ly/NJCLPeerMentee.”
Salvete NJCLers! The school year is in full swing—which means Latin quizzes, tests, and homework are, too. Looking for a little extra help? Or maybe you’d like to share your knowledge with fellow JCLers? Check out NJCL Peer Tutoring! You’ll be matched with a peer to help sharpen your skills, allowing you to connect with other students in the process. All tutoring sessions are completely free and conducted online.
If you’d like to be a tutor, fill out the form at bit.ly/njclpeertutor, and if you’d like to receive tutoring, fill out the form at bit.ly/njclpeertutees.
Epistulae is a pen pal program that is entirely in Latin! You get to be paired with another student from a different state and write to one another in lingua Latina, not only allowing for you to bond with JCLers across the country but also to practice your composition skills. The program is currently running, but will open up again in a few months. If you have any questions about the program or how to run it in your own state send me an email at president@njcl.org.
Game Nights are a great way to get to hang out with other JCLers and the NJCL Officers. During game nights we all play fun games like JackBox games, code names, and more. They happen a couple times throughout the year and are a way to get to meet new friends and have a couple of laughs while playing games!
