"Salvete omnes!
I am Emerson Humphries, SCJCL’s newly elected President. I am so excited to be a leader of this amazing community and to bring you some updates from our past year.
To start, I want to congratulate our newly elected officers Sam Siceloff, Isaac Holtz, Mia Bradley, Wanyue Deng, and Eloise Odgen. I am proud of all our new officers, I know they will do amazing things during their term.
This past year has been quite amazing for SCJCL. We had a total of 27 representatives at the 2025 Ohio National Convention, one of our largest groups. Along with this, we had a wonderful Classics Day sponsored by Furman University where we attended lectures and interactive workshops and created new bonds. We had six high schools and four middle schools present at the SCJCL Spring Forum, among these two new schools. Beyond this, our year was filled with amazing moments and bonds, from our friendly but competitive certamen to our Olympica races. To finish out, our SCJCL chapters had active community service members; most notable was Dreher high school and their service at community homes.
Finally, we are looking forward to another exciting national convention week in Indiana."

Tennessee
"The Tennessee Junior Classical League has had a phenomenal and productive year! We kicked things off with a fantastic Fall Festivus hosted by the Hutchison School in Memphis, which served as the perfect segue and spirit-booster leading into our competitive season.
This spring, roughly 175 enthusiastic classicists converged at Austin Peay State University for the TJCL state convention. The energy and state spirit were through the roof as students excelled across academic testing, creative arts, and intense Certamen rounds. True to our classical values of community, TJCL members also participated in a meaningful service project during the convention, writing heartfelt cards to veterans living at the local Fisher House comfort home.
With a newly elected state board at the helm, Tennessee is riding a wave of incredible momentum. Our delegates are officially packing their bags, tuning up their cheers, and getting ready to bring that signature Volunteer State spirit to the national convention this summer!"
