Do you have an idea to make the NJCL even better? Is there a change you’d like to see the board make? Are there any potential improvements you’ve noticed but aren’t sure where to share them? Look no further than the brand-new NJCL suggestion box! Submit all your ideas, comments, concerns, and suggestions to this form, and the board will review them. We can’t wait to hear from you! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out (commcoordinator@njcl.org).

The NJCL has a new video series on our YouTube account that is coming out! Follow along as I outline all sorts of JCL events from Classicalia to Certamen, non-convention contests, and everything convention. These videos go through the what, how, when, and why behind the events with some special guests as well! To make sure you catch these videos when they come out go subscribe to the NJCL YouTube and turn on notifications!

NJCL Video Series

Submit to the NJCL’s promotional video contest! The promotional video contest highlights creative and high quality videos that serve to promote the NJCL convention, promote classics as a whole, promote state/regional conventions, or retell mythological/historical stories. Additional submissions that don’t fall into any of these categories will be accepted in the “Open” category, which has no winners but has all submissions recognized at the NJCL convention.

To submit, email vp1@njcl.org with your name and chapter/state, as well as the category you’re entering and the video itself. Submissions must be sent by March 15, 2026 (for Nationals promo) or June 1, 2026 (for everything else), but early submissions are encouraged. Note that all video participants must also send a media release form.

NJCL Peer Mentoring

NJCL Peer Tutoring

The NJCL Peer Mentorship program is officially up and running! Whether you are founding a new chapter, aiming to run for office, or seeking advice as a state leader, a peer mentor can help! Experienced JCLers are highly encouraged to sign up to mentor and share their insight. Mentors and mentees will be paired based on prior experience and upcoming goals, with full flexibility on how and when to connect.

To sign up to be a mentor, head to bit.ly/NJCLPeerMentor, and to be a mentee, head to bit.ly/NJCLPeerMentee.”

Salvete NJCLers! The school year is in full swing—which means Latin quizzes, tests, and homework are, too. Looking for a little extra help? Or maybe you’d like to share your knowledge with fellow JCLers? Check out NJCL Peer Tutoring! You’ll be matched with a peer to help sharpen your skills, allowing you to connect with other students in the process. All tutoring sessions are completely free and conducted online.

If you’d like to be a tutor, fill out the form at bit.ly/njclpeertutor, and if you’d like to receive tutoring, fill out the form at bit.ly/njclpeertutees.
