NJCL Convention registration is coming up in about a month! This year’s convention is at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana from July 21-26. National convention is just like state convention, but schools all come together to form one state delegation and you get to meet people from different states. There are activities like Olympika, where you can show off your athletic skills; Certamen, of which, you could be playing on your state team; Creative Arts, to showcase writers and orators; Graphic Arts, to highlight our visual artists; Academic contests, dances, colloquia, elections, service, spirit, and more (we even have ludi pickleball this year!). Most of all, the national convention is an incredible event to experience and celebrate the JCLove and passionate community we have that I highly recommend.

Get excited! This year, National Classics Week will be celebrated from Wednesday, April 15, through Tuesday, April 21, the anniversary of the founding of Rome. The theme will be “Ancient Authors,” so join us as we explore the awesome range of Greek and Roman literary genres—from epic poetry to drama, oratory, and philosophy! Want to get involved? Check out the NJCL website soon for the National Classics Week packet, packed with fun activity ideas, games, and service opportunities you can enjoy with your local chapter.
