How time consuming is being a national officer and how difficult is it?
A: The short answer is that it depends on the office you hold. Some positions require more time and responsibility than others. At times, it can get pretty time consuming the weeks leading up to Nationals or an event that your office holds (e.g. Classicalia for first vice president). There are also monthly officer meetings, as well as Fall and Spring planning meetings. It won't feel too difficult as long as you enjoy the work you do!
How would you suggest promoting National Convention at a school with a smaller JCL chapter?
A: I would speak to teacher to first promote it in your Latin or Greek classes. You may also want to try to get it up on either your school's website or daily/monthly newsletter if your school does that.
Is there a way to keep in touch with JCL without social media?
A: Yes! Many NJCL officers use email to send announcements and deadlines to State officers. You can also visit the NJCL website, which is updated by our CoCo. And of course, you can subscribe to the Torch: U.S. on the NJCL website!
