Salvete omnes!

I hope you're having a great holiday season! For me, the duties of editor flew fast and furious: mere days after arriving home from National Convention, I was already meeting with my predecessor, Jenny, and Mr. Turner—my mentor—to plan out the fall Torch: U.S. Working on the fall issue was a fantastic way to reflect on convention—if you haven't read it, I encourage you to check it

out!

In September, I attended fall planning meeting in Ohio and had the opportunity to get to know the other fantastic members of this year's board (whatever they say about me—don't believe it). Quick on the heels of fall planning meeting, however, came the winter Torch: U.S.—the one you're reading right now!

Throughout, it's been great to talk to and meet JCLers from across the country whether by attending Legamus! or game nights. I've also been hard at work on the National Junior Classics Review, a way to publish the academic writing of students on the ancient Mediterranean. The first issue will be published shortly!

As always, though, if you have any questions—or just want to say hi—I'd love to hear from you! You can reach me at [email protected].

Cura ut valeas,

Felix Chen
