It’s almost time for Nationals! As exciting as that is, it’s crazy how this year has flown by and my term as your President is almost over. As such, these past couple months have mainly been filled with preparing for Nationals, like deciding on award recipients, recruiting GA speakers, and filling out the podium book. I’m happy to announce that the long-awaited Guide to Nationals has been released with all the tips and tricks to conquering Convention! Since the last Torch edition, I’ve also helped run Spring Planning, Officer Takeovers during National Classics Week, and Zoom Games at Classicalia. I’ve spent a lot of time working with the Development Committee, specifically on how to promote Annual Giving at Nationals. The week before Nationals, the other officers and I have planned some fun events, so make sure you join us at those as well!

I hope you all are having a great summer! Here are some of the major projects I have been working on. I have continued the Latin peer tutoring program (which is open this summer for Nationals preparation!) and coordinated with Audrey to plan Classicalia and National Classics Week this spring! Classicalia’s theme this year was The Odyssey and featured special appearances from Magister Craft, Joe’s Odyssey, Dr. Emily Hauser, and two incredible student speakers. Our National Classics Week theme this year was “Our favorite things: What we love about the JCL!” and incorporated fun ways to celebrate what we cherish about the Junior Classical League. Currently, I am working on publishing the 1st VP guide with email templates, a guide for funding, ideas, and other items discussed at our 1st Vice-President/ promotion, publicity, and participation meetings. I am so excited to see you at National Convention right around the corner!
