OFFICER VOICES · Summer 2025 · Torch: U.S.

Salvete, omnes!
We march now with purpose, counting down the days until national convention. Together, we draft cheers, read up on certamen, formulate campaigns, and ready ourselves for a week of community, enthusiasm, and exploration.
But as we look forward to convention, we also find time to reflect. Yet another year draws to a close, leaving us to celebrate our progress and growth, our achievements — and our failures. And indeed, we have all achieved much: hundreds of teams of officers around the nation have worked tirelessly to fulfill their goals; thousands of members have put forth their utmost — have created, and have bonded. Achievement follows failure, learning swift on its heels. This is the heart of the JCL.
As convention draws near — as we travel to Miami University from around the nation, in groups of dozens, or perhaps alone — remember this. Convention abounds with opportunity in all its myriad forms. So go — take advantage of all that awaits.
A new year begins here, for all of us. May it be one to remember.
