Salvete, amici, and welcome to Spring!

One highlight of my presidency has definitely been hosting the Zoom Game Nights; I’ve loved getting to meet so many of you! I’ve also had a blast doing Officer Takeovers on the NJCL Instagram, and I’m excited to continue them during National Classics Week.

Since the last Torch, I’ve held a couple of other NJCL Officer Meetings and met with the DEI and Development Committees to help shape the NJCL’s future. In addition, I created a “What’s Your Story” video, looking back on the decades of ACL/JCL history. Officer Logs have also officially been set into place, and I hope future officers will benefit from these tokens of wisdom.

I’m still working on the Guide to Nationals, but it should be out soon, so keep an eye out!

Valete, and see you at Classicalia!

Salvete amici!

I hope you all are having a great start to 2025! Here is an update on some of the projects I have been working on. I have been coordinating with Audrey to plan our events, Classicalia and National Classics Week for this Spring!

In addition to planning these events, I have been running the Latin Peer Tutoring program. If you are interested in being a tutor or tutee, please register with the linked forms. I have also been connecting with local and state officers and JCLers through meetings I call "Promotionalia," where we discuss creating and supporting JCL chapters and Classics clubs and programs, as well as promoting and expanding student involvement in the Classics.

I am so excited for all the activities we have this Spring, and I hope you will join us for Classicalia and National Classics Week! I also hope to see you at Miami University of Ohio for our National Convention this summer!

Gratias,

Yuki Mitchell
