Six years ago when I took my first Latin class and walked into my first state convention, I could safely say one, I didn't know what to expect, and two, I didn't know how formative both events would be on my middle and high school experience. I have everything to owe to the JCL and the time I've spent as a part of this organization has been some of the best memories of my life thus far.

It's been an honor to be your NJCL Editor and I've had so much fun over the course of my term in officer. Truly, it's an experience that I wouldn't trade anything else for. Even though I deeply missed convention throughout the school year, whenever I'd read any of your submission for the Torch U.S., I'd feel an instant sense of gratitude from all the JCLove and it broguht me back to the same amount of joy that I feel at convention.

I guess now's time to pass the torch to Felix (see what I did there) — I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

Ab imo pectore,

Salvete, amici.

Serving as your NJCL Historian has been an honor and pleasure. Through judging Photo of the Month and creating this year's scrapbook, I feel I’ve grown closer to this community, in all its inspiring nuances and variations. I count myself lucky to see (and document) what you all are up to. I owe a special thanks to those who helped me on my own JCL journey, which started at my first regional CAJCL event in sixth grade. I’m grateful to my teachers, the NJCL committee, and the CAJCL (forever my home state, even though I’m leaving for college) for encouraging my continued involvement and JCLove since then.

As I wrap up my term, I hope I’ve spread one message: lean in. I hope I've made it easier for JCLers to get excited by all that the organization has to offer by sharing inspiring club photos, documenting convention, and demystifying my office. May this year’s scrapbook help you reflect on our achievements and future potential. May the beginner-friendly "How to Histo" resource library I’ve begun grow and continue to support those interested in scrapbooking and in the historian role. Finally, please continue submitting to the National Photo of the Month contest — it’s so fun to see your updates.

Thank you for the unforgettable memories at this year's convention, from dining hall conversations to singing the JCL song together at GA. Go Vols!
