Ohio has been hard at work preparing for our upcoming State Convention in March,

but in the meantime, we have been dedicating our time to helping others in our state

community. In January, the southern region partnered with the Student Alliance for

Immigrants and Refugees to serve those in the Cincinnati Area who have emigrated from

their home country to the United States. Ohio delegates spent the morning at St. Leo’s Church organizing and assisting the Student Alliance with their work. January and February also featured a Certamen competition and a digital doughnut fundraiser in partnership with Krispy Kreme.

Salvete from New Jersey!

Since our last update, the NJ-JCL Executive Board is now approaching the busiest times

of the year. In December, we hosted a very fun virtual Saturnalia game night, where we played a variety of online games, such as a Saturnalia-themed Kahoot.

Our upcoming events include Certamen, which will be in March. Given how it’s our

second year hosting an in-person Certamen event, we hope to have greater numbers in

attendance this year! We are also still in the midst of planning for either watching the musical Hadestown or visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In terms of service events, we also plan to have a 6-week-long clothing drive and a virtual homemade cat and dog toy making session. The toys we make will be donated to animal shelters. We hope you all follow our Instagram @njjcl_, where we frequently post updates!
