The MassJCL board has had its mouth full in a plethora of events. On November 30th, over 15 schools and 300 students gathered at Boston University for our annual Classics Day. During the event, students and teacher had the opportunity to listen to a variety of talks from college professors and graduate students centered around this year's theme "Greece, Rome, and Beyond". Local chapters also contested in skits based off of this theme or the NJCL theme for the year.
Additionally, planning for the MassJCL State Convention taking place in April has kicked into high gear with sign ups having come out this month for the event. It will be our first State Convention since before the pandemic that will take place over the span of an entire weekend. We are very excited to welcome new JCLers to this experience in April!
Combined with our planning, we are also happy to announce the success of two local certamen tournaments: the MassJCL Winter Tournament on December 16th and BLSJCL Certamen tournament on February 3rd. Teams from the Boston area to even New Hampshire ventured to compete in these tournaments.

With March quickly approaching, Kentucky’s state convention is just a month away! The
KJCL officer board and sponsors have been busy planning this highly anticipated event
for all our delegates. We’re using our experience from both last year’s convention and our
recent Fall Forum to make this convention even better than before. We have a lot of new
events planned this time around and we hope our delegates are just as excited for our
state convention as we are!

Submitted by Maya Gavrin, Harrinton High School, PA: "An ode to Athena, this piece represents the symbols of her intelligence, wisdom, and strategy. The Parthenon in the background, dedicated to Athena, stands tall besides her, illustrating her glory."
