Editor's Note

Salvete, omnes!

Despite the early date, it certainly feels like spring is officially here in Virginia—at, least, after two aborted "snowstorms" and several days of 80 degree weather, I'm ready for the weather to make a decision. With the new crocus blooms and the silent spread of pollen in the air, once again, I hope that you are doing well (especially if you have seasonal allergies), and that this edition of the Torch: U.S. can find you some solace in what is sure to be an increasingly busy season, especially for students.

This edition very much follows the spring theme, with gardens and plants galore as well as new interviews, programs, and announcements from the national officers. Be on the lookout for more information regarding National Classics Week and other activities in the coming months!

I owe wholehearted thank-yous to those who made this edition possible, including my mentor, Mr. Turner, my fellow officers, and especially all of you who submitted art, writing, and your opinions to the seasonal poll. This edition of the Torch: U.S. would not exist without you all.

Ab imo pectore,

Monet Shum
