Salvete, plurimum!
In the eyes of many, 2021 has truly been a testing year. Over the past 11 months, we have experienced the ups and downs of living through history. As we gradually overcome the pandemic and begin to see the world from a new perspective, we also realize and treasure the moments and the friendships that helped us through these unprecedented times. For many JCLers, including myself, the JCL has been a structural support system and a truly unique experience. I am more than honored to be able to serve as your 2021-2022 NJCL Editor and work with all the wonderful people that have made this community possible.
As we reminisce about the in-person conventions and Certamen, I worked to create a playful yet professional publication that captures both the new spirit of the JCL and the sweet memories. You will even find a fun word scramble at the end of the "Officer Voices."
I’d like to thank my fellow officers, the National Committee, Mr. Turner, and all JCLers who submitted to this edition of the Torch: U.S. I am truly grateful for your submissions and participation, and I hope to keep receiving submissions from you all this coming year! Thank you, Dr. Roessler and Professor Sheridan Moss for taking time out of your busy schedules to write for and be interviewed, respectively, for this edition. Your experience and wisdom is truly inspirational.
Lastly, I wish you all the best holiday season and new year! Winters in Wisco are brutal, but this Torch: U.S. is going to be fire. Pun-intended.
Fill out THIS FORM to share what you would like to see next in the Torch: U.S. Spring Edition!
