Salvete amici!

By far the best part of serving as your historian is safekeeping the memories we’ve made this year. Even though there’ll inevitably be parts from this year that we’d like to forget, they’ll be far outweighed by fonder memories. Whether it’s sleepless nights at state conventions or being captivated all over again by Professor Anika Prather’s Classicalia talk on why the classics matter, there will certainly be many things we’ll be nostalgic about as we one day ponder our gradual return to normal.

But just like how memories are often sweeter when they’re made with others, building a scrapbook is a team effort, and I need your help. The scrapbook is just as much a representation of your voice as it is of mine, and I would very much appreciate your input. If there’s anything in particular that you’d like to see in the scrapbook or if you have any other recommendations, please fill out this survey. And if you’re a historian, look out for some requests from me for photos and videos from your states.

Here’s to keeping the magic from this year alive!

2021 - 2022 NJCL Historian

Salvete plurimum,

As my high school career came to an end, I've put my heart and soul into my penultimate edition of the Torch: U.S. These past few months, I have focused mainly on planning out the Torch: U.S. line up, contacting possible contributors, and writing the feature article, and I even had the opportunity for another interview.

With nationals coming around the block, submissions for the state and local publications contests are due TODAY, June 1, 2022, at 11:59pm EST. To submit please email me at [email protected] with PDFs or links to your publications. Since this deadline happens to land on the same date as this publications release, I will have a grace period of one to two days to submit. I look forward to seeing y'all's work!

We had so many great contributors to this publication, and I can't thank you all enough! The hidden struggles of collecting submissions was significantly alleviated as we all got to know eachother. I can't wait to see you all at national convention!
