Message from the DIRAUX , Commander Morgan
It has been my pleasure to serve as your Director of Auxiliary for the past year . With a heavy heart I have requested and been approved for retirement on October 1st of this year . After twenty-four years of combined U . S . Army and U . S . Coast Guard service my family and I decided the time was right to plant roots in Pennsylvania . My short stint as DIRAUX is not a reflection on the way I feel about the Coast Guard Auxiliary . In fact , it is my intent to join the ranks of the Auxiliary after my retirement . So together with you , we can continue to serve the many needs of our nation .
I have enjoyed working with your auxiliary leadership team and can boldly say they are second to none . Your DIRAUX staff are some of the most professional Coasties I have ever worked with and have enjoyed getting to know each of them . They have truly assisted you with a servant leadership mindset . As my replacement , the Coast Guard was extremely lucky to locate the very capable and knowledgeable CDR Laura Moose .
CDR Moose has previously served as the District 1 South DIRAUX and is joining us from CG headquarters . I know you will welcome her as warmly as you received me . This will be my last time writing to you as DIRAUX , but I hope that I will continue to see many of the members that I have met again and meet more of the D5 auxiliary membership over the coming years . Thank-you for your dedicated service .
