One of Lincolns major successes as President was the decesion to fight the seperation of the Nation. He stood strong with his decesion to not allow the southern states to split apart. He thought that the the succession was illegal and he was willing to use force to prevent it. He gave the south the option of putting down their arms and join the Union. At the end, the South and North came together to form what today is the United States.

Another one of Lincolns major successes as a president was the emancipation proclomation. The Emancipation proclmation was a document that consisted of two executive orders. It was issued on September 22, 1862. It declared the freedom of all slaves in any state of the Confederate States of America. One thing to note though, it that it only applied to states that seceded from the Union, slave states in the Union were not affected by this document. Slavery was banished in the 13th amendment.

Following up on the Emancipation proclomation, Abraham Lincoln approved the 13th amendment. This amendment said" Neither Slavery nor involuntary servitude, except for punishment for crime whereof the party shall have duly convicted, shall exist in the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.' This was passed at the end of the Civil war and ended Slavery.

Although Abraham is known for his success, he did have a few failures. One of his failures, although not big, was that he did not have a genreral for a couple of months. At the end, he made a drunkard the gerneral whom turned out to be a miliary genius.
