The Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the Umaria district in Madhya
Pradesh. The Park has mythological sentiments attached to it as it has been
known to exist from during the days of the Ramayana. Amidst the Park is
the Bandhavgarh Fort surrounded by caves containing writings in Brahmi scripts.
One can catch a 360-degree view of forest from the fort. The Park is widely
populated by tigers, most famously the white Bengal tigers. The other species
that one gets to see here are deer, elephants, reptiles and variety of birds. The
park has lots of jungle loges and resort properties for tourists to stay. Jabalpur is
the nearest place from where tourists can reach the park by road.
