is the Bright switch. It can add
sparkle to the effected signal or
shade out some of the al fresco
frequencies like a Japanese Shoji
blind with a shadowed beauty
behind it. The Voice control is
another unique feature of the
Empress. This changes the delay
time and can be dialed in for
crystallized faux flanging on faster
speeds, or lushly immersive glacial
melts of chorusing on the other.
This also affects the vibrato side
of the Empress’s personality and
can rubberize and hypnotize with
the best of them. This is a truly
special chorus pedal. Just ask
Andy Summers.
LEARNING TO CRAWL BACK
TO THE BBD CHAIN GANG
Chorus pedals may not be for
everyone, but there are still quite
a few that inspire more than trying
to eat a Frosted Strawberry PopTart while bouncing on a Pogo
Ball. It might be time to cash in on
the surviving members of your G.I.
Joe collection and get your self a
cool new toy. Hopefully, now you
know where to start looking and
remember, all you big kids out
there: “Knowing is half the battle.”
